Can you give an Airbnb cleaner calendar access?
Yes, but the best option depends on how much access your cleaner needs.
Airbnb’s calendar-only co-host role can work for Airbnb listings, while Teams is no longer available to most hosts. If you want a simple schedule without logins or guest details, a shared calendar tool may be a better fit.
Airbnb lets you share listing access at several permission levels, but each comes with tradeoffs. Here is what cleaners can see, what setup requires, and when a simpler alternative makes more sense.
Airbnb co-host access
Airbnb offers three levels of co-host access:
- Full access
- Includes everything: pricing, listing edits, accepting and declining bookings, guest messages, the earnings dashboard, even adding other co-hosts. Far too much for a cleaning schedule.
- Calendar and messaging
- Lets someone see the calendar and message your guests. The messaging is the problem. Guest conversations are not a cleaner's job, and replies go out under their own name.
- Calendar access
- Shows the reservation calendar and check-in and checkout details, but nothing else. It is the closest fit if your cleaner only needs scheduling information, though they still need an Airbnb account and must log in.
You can set permissions for each listing when inviting someone, then change or remove them later. A co-host with calendar-only access does not appear publicly on your listing. Co-hosts with either of the other two access levels do.
Airbnb Teams
This option was designed for the job but is unavailable for most.
Airbnb’s hosting teams include a Tasks role designed for service providers such as cleaners and maintenance workers. It lets them view assigned tasks and related reservation details, mark work as started or completed, and report damaged items. In principle, it is an ideal fit.
However, the same Airbnb help page states the decisive limitation: the ability to create new teams has currently been disabled. Unless you already have a team, this option is unavailable.
What Airbnb access requires
Airbnb access requires your cleaner to have an account and be added to each listing. It also exposes some guest details and does not include bookings from Vrbo or Booking.com.
Which option fits?
Calendar-only co-host access may be enough if you use only Airbnb, your cleaner already has an account, and you are comfortable sharing limited reservation details. It may also make sense if the cleaner could take on broader property responsibilities later.
If your cleaner needs task assignments, progress tracking, or team coordination, a full turnover management tool may be the better choice. If they simply need a clear schedule, SheetDay offers a lighter option: it builds one page with a calendar and checkout dates. The page updates automatically, and you can text it to your cleaner. There is no app, account, or password, a Spanish display is available, and guest names and prices stay private.
Common questions
- Should I make my cleaner a co-host on Airbnb?
- Only at the calendar-access level, which shows them the calendar and the check-in and checkout details and nothing else. Full access hands over pricing, bookings and your earnings dashboard, which almost no host means to do.
- Can I use Airbnb Teams for my cleaner?
- Probably not. Airbnb's hosting team permissions do include a Tasks role built for cleaners and maintenance workers, but Airbnb's own help page says the ability to create new teams is currently disabled. If you do not already have a team, you cannot start one.
- Does a co-host need an Airbnb account?
- Yes. You invite them by email or phone number, and they sign in with their own Airbnb account, listing by listing. For a cleaner working across several hosts, that is one more account to keep track of.
- Will my cleaner see guest names?
- On the Airbnb calendar, yes. Reservations show guest details. If you want to share dates and nothing else, the calendar inside your Airbnb account is the wrong place to do it.
